SodexoMagic names Charles Johnson president
Johnson returns to the company after starting a consulting firm, co-founding a school and more.
SodexoMagic has named Charles Johnson its new president.
Johnson previously served as the foodservice vendor's vice president of business development and played a key role in bringing about the deal that made SodexoMagic a reality, according to a press release.
He later left the company and started a consulting firm, Ideal Concepts Group; served as vice president and partner at a construction management company; and co-founded a school.
In his new role, he will report to the SodexoMagic board of directors, whose members include onetime NBA star Magic Johnson and CEO of Sodexo North America Sarosh Mistry. (SodexoMagic is a team venture from Sodexo and investment company Magic Johnson Enterprises.)
"I am honored to be appointed as the President of SodexoMagic and to be part of such a dynamic organization," Charles Johnson said in a statement. "I look forward to working with the SodexoMagic team to continue delivering exceptional service to our clients and further strengthen our position as the leader of our industry."
SodexoMagic recently debuted a new concept for K-12 schools called Thrive, which seeks to solicit student feedback on dishes and offer a wider array of culturally relevant menu items. The concept is being tested in Washington, D.C., this spring.
