A thief who recently attempted to rob a diner in Metairie, LA, pulled that rarest of feats — he allowed a business to make a profit on a robbery.

The thief walked into Joe's Café, asked for two donuts and handed the clerk a five dollar bill. When the clerk opened the cash register, the thief pulled a gun and demanded the cash, but the clerk was so frightened she started screaming. The spooked thief fled the diner, without the loot, donuts or even his original five dollars.
