Until recently, a man dubbed the Grim Eater had been haunting funerals in New Zealand, chowing down on the food served to mourners. He even brought his own Tupperware containers to take home leftovers.
The man was described as respectably dressed and always polite. He only became noticed when funeral directors saw him showing up three or four times a week for services, making it highly unlikely he knew all the deceased.
Because funerals posted in newspapers are essentially public events, funeral directors can't just forbid someone from attending, but eventually one director did pull him aside and give him a stern talking-to. He hasn't been seen since.
Maybe he's moved on to weddings…
