This Mardi Gras-appropriate cocktail recipe from The Pool Club at Virgin Hotels New Orleans turns the iconic dessert into a showstopping sip.
The flavors are just as showy as the tableside dessert it's named for, with Tempus Fugit Banana, Don Q Gold, King Cake syrup, lime juice and meringue powder for that extra something/lagniappe.
1.25 oz. Don Q Gold
1 oz. Tempus Fugit Banana
.75 oz. King Cake syrup
.5 oz. lime juice
meringue powder, to taste
Combine all ingredients in a shaker.
Shake vigorously and double-strain.
Pour into a rocks glass with baby ice that has been garnished with a sugar rim.
