Sodexo has partnered with a third-party service to bring mobile ordering and meal delivery to more than 850 college campuses.

Starting this fall, Sodexo will roll out use of the app-based service, Tapingo, enabling users to order food from their school’s dining services for pickup or delivery. About 100 campuses in the U.S. and Canada will receive the service during the first wave of the rollout.

“This partnership provides our campuses with an exciting, innovative service that not only increases satisfaction, but also empowers community members to enjoy healthy, high-quality meals and snacks that suit their on-the-go lifestyles,” Bill Lacey, senior vice president at Sodexo, said in a statement.

The vendor is following in the footsteps of its largest competitor, Aramark, which announced a partnership with Tapingo last fall. Around the same time, Chipotle also said it would work with the third-party service to offer order-ahead and delivery to college students.
