Each year, the Solutions5 conference brings together five leading foodservice industry associations—the Association of Correctional Food Service Affiliation (ACFSA), the Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF), Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) and the Society for Hospitality & Foodservice Management (SHFM)—to facilitate foodservice industry collaboration and cross-industry networking opportunities, showcase thought leadership, spur innovative conversation, and heighten association awareness and membership.

To that end, every year a core topic is selected and addressed by some half dozen keynote speakers during a day-long event, with networking taking place at meal and snack breaks and at the closing reception.

It was during these times that the conference took an extra, innovative step, thanks to host company Microsoft—on whose Redmond, Wash. main campus the get-together was held—and its dining services partner Compass Group.
