Frank Residences, a senior-living community that’s part of the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living in San Francisco, invited celebrity chef Jet Tila to compete in a latke cook-off, J. reports.

Tila competed against two culinary teams from the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living. Residents judged each team’s latkes based on their presentation, crispiness and more.

The winning recipe came from two chefs at Frank Residences and featured a traditional latke topped with an apple and currant compote, deep-fried onion strands, sour cream and chopped chives.

Tila created latkes featuring scallions and hoisin sauce, while the other team competing made zucchini latkes topped with tahini.
