A Wyoming senator has introduced a bill that would allow schools to give surplus food to food-insecure students, the Gillette News Record reports.

Under the bill proposed by state Sen. Jeff Wasserburger, schools would be allowed to donate packaged and unpackaged food, whole produce, wrapped raw produce or unpeeled fruit, and could also accept donations from nonprofits for charitable purposes.
