Quest Food Management Services, a food service management company that develops scratch made dining programs for schools throughout the Midwest, will be partnering with farmer-owned Prairie Farms Dairy of Edwardsville, Ill., to bring awareness around the benefits of drinking milk for National Milk Day on January 11, 2023.

On that day, K-12 students in the Quest network of schools will be offered a Strawberry Milk treat for a limited-time, as well as a variety of activities and games for students aimed at promoting the health values of drinking more milk, specifically the benefits of having more Vitamin D, Vitamin A, and Calcium in their diets.

The company will also highlight the Farm-to-School story of their partnership with Prairie Farms, which dates back well over a decade, including the process by which the milk goes from cow to carton to school service within just 48 hours. Prairie Farms will support the program through activities on their Farm-to-School website-landing page.

“Our partnership with Prairie Farms is a wonderful example of why Quest places priority on working with local and regional farms,” says Quest president Nick Saccaro, “The product is not only supremely fresh, but also free from any artificial growth hormones, an important standard of our Food Philosophy.”

The National Milk Day promotion is one of several special events that Quest plans to run at its K-12 school client sites in January, as part of its monthly programming to increase food and ingredient education. The January theme will be “A Fresh Start” in which the company will also highlight dishes that are rich in protein, whole grains and minerals, promoting good choices in school that also taste great.
