UFood Grill has opened its first hospital location, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and is eyeing other locations in the healthcare segment, according to a CNN report. The Newton, MA, based concept also operates at Boston’s Logan Airport and the Dallas/Foxworth International Airport, along with several street and mall units. The concept features a healthy food menu emphasizing grilling and steaming of natural and organic ingredients as much as possible, along with whole grains, low-fat cheeses and plenty of meatless dishes.

Parkland is a major major public hospital with some 9,000 onsite staff. The 8,200-sq.ft. location where the restaurant will set up was previously occupied by a McDonald’s unit. The UFood unit will have 270 seats as well as a takeout counter. It is owned by UFood franchisee Puente Concessions, which won the bid process for the space. Puente will also operate an Urban Taco Mexican taqueria concept at Parkland.
