NYC Healthcare Heroes, a joint initiative from Aramark and several other organizations, says it has delivered upwards of 400,000 care packages to healthcare workers fighting COVID-19 in New York City.

Care packages provided by the program, which launched in April, have included over-the-counter medications and shelf-stable foods such as pasta and soup, as well as cleaning and personal care products. Boxes containing fresh fruit and nuts were also given out.

“Aramark is proud to have joined the Black Family to launch NYC Healthcare Heroes in support of the heroic efforts of healthcare workers,” John Zillmer, CEO of Aramark, said in a statement. “We appreciated the opportunity to build relationships with our program partners, including Robin Hood, the Red Cross and the Mayor’s Fund, all of which helped make NYC Healthcare Heroes a success. In our efforts, we are hopeful we were able to bring smiles to the faces of heroes who continue to make countless sacrifices on the front lines for the benefit of New York City.”

Since its inception, NYC Healthcare Heroes has also received more than $20 million in donations.
