Gator Dining at the University of Florida (UF) will this fall debut a third-party delivery platform tailored to college campuses.

The new service, BYPPOCampus, is an offshoot of BYPPO, a food-delivery company launched in 2019 by a UF alum in the school’s hometown of Gainesville.

With its focus on colleges, BYPPOCampus deliverers will be students only. The platform also bills itself as a more eco-friendly delivery option, with drop-offs being made through a variety of transportation modes, including scooters, bikes, public transportation and walking.

“Food brings people together and our goal, by investing in this innovative experience, is to encourage students to safely connect to one another while enjoying amazing food prepared by the Gator Dining team,” David Vandenberg, regional vice president for Aramark Higher Education—which manages Gator Dining—said in a statement.

On-campus delivery has been gaining steam at colleges across the country, particularly during the pandemic. Delivery via robot has been one solution, while Marist College recently found success with a fleet of delivery golf carts.
