The Oxford School District (OSD) Child Nutrition Program is serving up a fresh, new way in which parents apply for their children to participate in the district’s Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
Today, the Free and Reduced Lunch Program Application will move online via the Oxford School District website at www.oxfordsd.org. The online application process for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program is a first for the school district; in the past, parents would fill out a paper application to turn in to school officials.
“The new online application offers our parents an easy yet safe, private and readily available application process,” said OSD Child Nutrition Director Tim Howington. “Parents can use the online application anytime and from anywhere they have access to an Internet connection.”
Parents must fill out the new online application for their children to participate in the district’s program every school year, even if their children qualified for the program last school year. Parents must complete one online application per household. Online applications will be processed by the OSD Child Nutrition Program office, and parents will receive a notification with the results of their application within a timely manner.
“The same day that a parent fills out an online application for their child to participate in our Free and Reduced Lunch Program, we will instantly receive the application, which allows us to process it quicker,” said Howington.
