Dallas Independent School District is debuting a new line of “chef-inspired” meals for students this upcoming school year.
The new meals signal a return to daily scratch cooking in the district's kitchens. Due to complications from the pandemic, many menu options had to be replaced with grab-and-go pre-packed entrees over the past two years, the district said.
The foodservice team recently tested two of the new recipes with high school students. Both the cheesy taco pasta and chicken tetrazzini pasta were met with positive reviews and will be served on the menu.
Additional recipes will be introduced as the school year rolls on.
