The State of Ohio has settled a lawsuit with a Muslim inmate in one of its prisons over the serving of halal meals, reports ABC News. According to the reported settlement, Ohio will not change its meal preparation policies, except for a previously announced ban on pork, which is forbidden to observant Muslims and Jews. The state had argued that a requirement to serve halal meals in prison would put severe financial strain on its resources.
