2008 FAME Award Winners Announced

Program designed to recognize the best in school foodservice.
Susan Woods, EdS, SNS, RD, LD, has been named the winner of the 2008 FAME (Foodservicer Achievement Management Excellence) Golden School Foodservice Director of the Year award. Woods is nutrition program director for Forsyth County (GA) Schools.
Other winners are Kristine Obbink, RD, director for Portland (OR) Public Schools, who won the Silver Leadership Award; Jill Lancaster, RD, assistant director of nutrition services for El Monte City (CA) School District, who won the Silver Spirit Award; LaNae Potter, SNS, foodservice director for the Garvey School District in Rosemead, CA, who won the Silver Rising Star Award; Doug Davis, SNS, foodservice director for the Burlington (VT) School District, who won the Silver Special Achievement Award; and Marilyn Briggs, RD, SNS, MS, co-director of the Center for Integrative Nutrition Environments in School Communities in Necastle, CA, who won the Silver Friend of Child Nutrition Award.
The awards will be presented during the School Nutrition Association’s Child Nutrition Industry Conference on January 13th in Monterey, CA.
The FAME awards are sponsored by Basic American Foods, Tyson Foods, Inc., Campbell Soup Co. and Hobart Corp.
