To become a member of “Mom’s Clean Plate Club,” a food waste reduction initiative, students are required to show an employee positioned in front of the disposal area their clean plate to receive a punch on a card reflecting the promotion. Once the student accumulates 10 punches, they receive a T.A.S.T.E. token, which can be turned in for prizes. This past fall semester, the third weigh-in came in at only 69 pounds of waste, or just under two ounces per student.
