Pomptonian manages cafeterias and vending operations in around 330 primary and secondary school locations across New Jersey. Its main focus in the past few years has been satisfying the need for healthful, fresh and sustainable meal choices.
Its two-year-old Village Fresh program, which incorporates an online ordering module that lets parents place school meal orders for their children, emphasizes using minimally processed foods (its motto is “Closer to the way you find it on the farm”). Meanwhile, the Farm Stand concept has doubled the number of students choosing fresh fruits and vegetables with their meals each day.
