Reports of more wallet-friendly eats in several ballparks this summer should give fans something to cheer about in the economic downturn.

$1 Item Concession Stands: a pilot program by Delaware North Companies Sportservice, features smaller portions of items like hot dogs, soda, peanuts and popcorn at the Cincinnati Reds' Great American Ballpark and the Milwaukee Brewers' Miller Park.

Package Deals: Taste of the Ballpark, a combo meal of hot dog, peanuts, soft pretzel and cookie, leads off at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, also by Delaware North.

Value-Packed Meals with Authentic Flavor: Aramark is offering more family-friendly package deals and ethnic offerings such as Chicken Mole Burrito at Angel Stadium and Shrimp Roll at Fenway Park.
