The food management company is starting Vermont First, a program to increase the amount of locally sourced products into the 34,000 meals it serves in Vermont non-commercial locations each day. BURLINGTON, Vt. — Sodexo, a food-service company with numerous Vermont accounts, announced Thursday afternoon a program to increase local foods in institutional settings.

The company serves 34,000 meals a day in Vermont, according to a press release about Sodexo's initiative. Customers include the University of Vermont, Champlain College, St. Michael's College and schools in the state college system.
