Rich Herb, Sodexo's chef-manager at Binghamton University, is working with a group of senior engineers on a design project called “Food to Fuel: Engineering Food Waste Into Green Energy.” The project, which seeks to convert food waste into energy to help power the school's heating plant, is under consideration for endorsement by the University's President, who has requested financial quotes for machine development. The heating plant has already agreed to utilize anything that is produced.
