Corporate Chefs, Inc., a dining services management company based in Haverhill, MA, is partnering a popular local Asian restaurant operator Kowloon to give the company's corporate dining clients some lunchtime variety. The partnership brings Kowloon chefs to the onsite cafes participating in the program to serve a limited menu of some of the restaurant's most popular dishes, such as a Poo Poo Platter and the perennial favorite Genereal Tso's Chicken.

The first event, at a multi-tenant office park, generated some 350 transactions in 42 minutes in a venue that typically generates less than 250 (the cafe did keep its regular deli and salad bar open for those who preferred something other than Kowloon dishes). Two more are scheduled at a larger office park and at a single-client think tank site. Sean Bramble, vice president of operations for Corporate Chefs, says the relationship is a win-win all around.

"We get to offer some variety and hold a special event that is part of our contract, while the restaurant gets to promote itself to hundreds of potential customers," he says. "Meanwhile, the customers get something exciting and different for lunch." Bramble says the initiative may expand to include other local restaurants interested in participating.
