President Joe Biden has announced that the White House will hold a Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health in September.

The last time this conference was held was in 1969, during the Nixon Administration. The 1969 conference expanded upon programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and created others such as the National School Breakfast Program.

This year’s conference will bring together various stakeholders to discuss ways to meet the Biden-Harris Administration’s goal to end hunger nationwide and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030.
