When students in Brown Independent School District start to school this fall, they’ll return to a new lunch menu, says the Brownsville Herald.

The new menu items include a chef salad, tacos el pastor and a chicken teriyaki rice bowl to be served on “Meaty Mondays,” “Taco Tuesdays” and “Asian Fridays.”

Student-council members from all seven BISD high schools taste-tested the new items at a recent luncheon hosted by the district’s superintendent, Esperanza Zendejas.
