Nursing homes that don’t require staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will lose out on federal funding, according to new rules to be issued by the Biden Administration, CNN reports

President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that U.S. nursing homes without a COVID-19 mandate for workers will no longer receive federal Medicare and Medicaid funding.

The new regulations could go into effect as early as next month. Some states, such as New York and Massachusetts, have already issued a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for nursing home staff.
