Hello, Year of the Monkey! Along with the fun and spectacle of parades, lion dances and fireworks, ringing in the Chinese New Year also traditionally focuses on a feast of lucky foods. For example, long beans are eaten to ensure a long life, oranges and tangerines bring wealth and the word for fish in Chinese sounds like the word for “abundance,” so whole fish is another lucky food. It never hurts to add a little good luck, and these special Lunar New Year dishes foretell of a very tasty new year.
