On this episode of FM On Demand with Tara Fitzpatrick, we welcome one of our buzziest guests ever, FLIK Hospitality Group’s Executive Chef and Head Beekeeper Will Pfeiffer, who has gotten things started with a sweet custom-made bee setup at IBM’s Louis V. Gerstner Center for Learning in Armonk, NY.

Pfeiffer became a chef before he got into beekeeping, making his bones in hot NYC restaurants and now expanding his repertoire with all the things honeybees can offer: Obviously, the honey, which he’s using in creative recipes like crazy; and then there’s the sustainability aspect: Helping pollinators and helping people see how important they are to our earth.

Pfeiffer is great to talk to, and his story about meeting a veteran local beekeeper who became his bee mentor is super-inspiring, whether you want to try your hand at beekeeping or any new skill. Always learning is the way to go! We also learn a bee hack about introducing a new queen bee. Not to “bee” missed.
