Urban School Food Alliance announces Katie Wilson as executive director

Wilson will be in charge of leading the development and implementation of the Alliance’s strategic initiatives.

The Urban School Food Alliance has named Katie Wilson as its first executive director.

In her new role, Wilson will be in charge of leading the development and implementation of the Alliance’s strategic initiatives, including establishing organization and developing partnerships in the education, government and philanthropic sectors.

Previously, Wilson served as deputy under secretary of food, nutrition and consumers services for the USDA, where she helped oversee school food funding and regulations. Prior to her position with the USDA, Wilson was the executive director for the Institute of Childhood Nutrition, a federally funded center responsible for providing research, education, training and technical assistance for child nutrition programs. She has also served as foodservice director in various school districts throughout Wisconsin.
