School Nutrition Foundation honors five SNA members with award

The School Nutrition Foundation has announced the winners of its School Nutrition Hero award.

SNF, the philanthropic sister organization of the School Nutrition Association, gives the award to SNA members who have made a difference in the lives of students and coworkers, and improve the community.

The winners who will be honored February 29, 2016 at the association’s Legislative Action Conference in Washington, D.C. include:

Chris Burkhardt, director of Child Nutrition & Wellness at Lakota Local School District in Liberty Township, Ohio.

Sandra Hearn, cafeteria manager at Vicksburg Warren School District in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Jody Houston, Food Services Director at Corpus Christi Independent School District in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Samantha Ingram, child nutrition manager at Samson Elementary Geneva County Schools in Samson, Alabama.

Suellen Smith, cafeteria manager at Zephyrhills High School in Zephyrllis, Florida.
