School district serves summer dinner at farmers market

Christina School District in Delaware began offering breakfast, lunch and dinner at a local farmers market this summer, Newark Post reports.

The meals are served at the market every Friday. Kids eat for free while adults can grab breakfast for $2.50, lunch for $3.60 and dinner for $2.

The district’s nutrition director says that the lower price for dinner is meant to encourage parents to come to the market during the evening and bring their kids. An activity, such as reading aloud or an art project, is normally held during the meals.
