February 22, 2022
Kershaw County School District in Camden, S.C., has hired students to help out in the cafeteria at two of its high schools, News 19 reports.
The students attend class in the morning and then work a four-hour shift in the cafeteria starting around noon. The students are paid the same amount as a regular cafeteria employee.
According the the nutrition team, not only have the student workers helped make up for lost staff, but they have also helped encourage their peers to try new menu items.
