School Dining Employees Dismissed for Denying Middle Schoolers Lunch

Four Whitsons Culinary Services employees have been dismissed after violating policy regarding lunch account shortfalls and denying meals to several students in a Massachusetts middle school.

Whitsons Culinary Services has dismissed four employees from its Coehlo Middle School operation in Attleboro, MA, after they violated company policy by denying lunch to several dozen students with insufficient lunch account balances, reports the Boston Globe. Both Whitsons and the district emphasized that the actions of the individuals were outside established policy regarding meal account balances. Whitsons says it will provide free lunch to all Coelho school students for three days this week and will host a barbecue for students and their families alater in the school year.
