  • explain what they are and how to use them at the beginning of the school year

  • have staff monitor and assist kids as they pass through

  • provide stools or a riser to make it easier for smaller children to reach the selections

  • replace tongs and other serving implements frequently

  • offer portioned packs or squeeze bottles for dressings

  • have a hand sanitizer dispenser at the beginning of the line
