Plastics Makers Accused of Thwarting School Recycle Effort

The five major manufacturers of polystyrene food service products, along with the Plastics Foodservice Packaging Group of the American Chemistry Council, are being sued by Evergreen Partnering Group, Inc., for conspiring to thwart Evergreen's initiative to implement closed-loop recycling of school lunch trays, reports Plastics News.

The $25 million antitrust action against Pactiv Corp., Genpak LLC, Solo Cup Co., Dolco Packaging and Dart Container Corp. was filed in U.S. District Court in Boston.
