Pittsburgh Schools to Serve Universal Free Lunch

Pittsburgh Public Schools has announced that it will provide free lunches to all 25,906 district students beginning this fall under the USDA's Community Eligibility Provision. The district, in which 71% of students qualify for free/reduced price meals, already offers free universal breakfast at its 54 school sites. Last year, Pittsburgh Schools served 10,467 breakfasts and 18,272 lunches daily, according to its website.
