Walpole (MA) Schools will begin central production of all cafeteria food for the district at its high school kitchen, from where it will be distributed to the six other schools, reports the Walpole Times. After operating on a deficit in recent years, the district is centralizing the food production process to cut down on labor and equipment costs. One master chef and two cooks will oversee all cooking at the high school rather than having cooks on-site at all seven schools. The district hired Vinicio Cordon, founder of and head chef at fine dining/catering operator Sabor in nearby Plymouth to serve as the master chef.
