Judge blocks Florida’s school reopening order

Florida's recent school reopening order, which required schools in the state to provide in-person learning five days a week by the end of this month or be penalized financially, has been put on hold after a circuit judge in Tallahassee ruled it unconstitutional, the Tallahassee Democrat reports.

Circuit Judge Charles Dodson said that the decision to reopen for in-person learning should be made by elected school boards and superintendents after talking to medical experts and determining it is safe to do so.

The state is expected to appeal the ruling.
