Chicago Public Schools announces COVID-19 vaccination mandate

All Chicago Public Schools employees will need to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, according a new mandate released by the nation's third-largest district.

Workers will have until Oct. 15, 2021, to become fully vaccinated. Exemptions will be made for those with certain medical conditions and religious beliefs.

Exempt employees and those who are still in the process of getting vaccinated will be tested for COVID-19 at least weekly once the school year begins.

The state of California and the city of Denver have also issued mandates regarding COVID-19 vaccinations for school employees.
