Breakfast in the classroom has been shown to increase test scores, concentration, alertness, memory, cognitive function and attention while decreasing tardiness, behavioral issues and absenteeism. The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) reported these correlations in a recent report on breakfast in the classroom, which looked at participation in the School Breakfast Program among low-income children in the last school year. That means breakfast inspiration is a must for the school foodservice pros who are serving students bright and early. Here are five cool ways to wake up your own school breakfast program.
