NC State Reorganizes Dining/Hospitality Unit 2011-02-22

Campus Enterprises, the lead division for hospitality and retail services at North Carolina State University, has centralized several core functions to better serve the division, including human resources, accounting, and marketing. To support the consolidation, several Campus Enterprises employees have taken on new responsibilities.

Randy Lait has assumed responsibility as senior director of hospitality services. In his role, he will continue to oversee University Dining, but will also lead the development of campus hospitality initiatives as well as the marketing and public relations program for Campus Enterprises. Lait has more than 25 years of experience with University Dining.

As senior director for Campus Enterprises financial services, Richard Hayes will oversee accounting and cash operations for the division and also will continue to oversee NC State Bookstores. He has been with NC State Bookstores for more than 25 years and has more than 34 years of retail experience. Diane Chilcote, who has been the assistant director/accounting manager for NC State Bookstores for the past three years, will assume day-to-day responsibility for Campus Enterprises accounting.

Dorothy McLeod who has been human resources manager for University Dining will assume responsibility as human resources manager for all Campus Enterprise units. McLeod joined University in 1994 and has 30 years of human resources experience.

“I am pleased that these individuals have agreed to take on additional assignments to further develop the role of Campus Enterprises at the university while continuing their significant contributions to their existing roles,” says Dan Adams, associate vice chancellor of Campus Enterprises. “By consolidating these efforts, we can streamline many of our core functions and better serve the units that make up Campus Enterprises.”

Campus Enterprises is comprised of a number of hospitality and service units including University Dining, NC State Bookstores, University Trademark Licensing, the Lonnie Poole Golf Course, campus student centers operations (Witherspoon, Thompson, Price and Talley), and the AllCampus Card Office. It leads campus-wide efforts that include the $4.1 million Atrium Food Court, the $120 million Talley Student Center renovation and expansion, and the $5 million Carol Johnson Poole clubhouse, and the Innovation Café on Centennial Campus. Future endeavors include Centennial Campus Hotel and Conference Center and Town Center.
