Nov. 7—Forrest General Hospital, in Mississippi, and the American Heart Association teamed up Wednesday to honor National Eating Healthy Day and the “My Heart, My Life” initiative.

To commemorate the event, Forrest General provided healthier menu items for its cafeteria patrons, such as salmon, baked chicken and salad.

“In a single day, we’re trying to show healthier options that should be something that a person works into their diet on a daily basis,” said Christopher Liddy, director of Forrest General’s Food and Nutrition Services. “We’ve gone to items that are less sodium and fat, like turkey and chicken instead of red meat.
