Indiana hospital renovation emulates restaurant

Feb. 18—Nobody wants to go to the hospital, but if you have to eat there, it’s more pleasant than it used to be.

This is thanks to a two-pronged effort instituted by IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, in Muncie, Ind., to improve the quality of the cafeteria, which is now called Cafe Connections, in both its appearance and its food.

Diane Pursley, the hospital’s food production and purchasing manager, says the old facility was really dated. “Now it looks more like a restaurant," Pursley says. "Now we have more stations where you can get healthier items.”
