This month, Food Management named the top healthcare stories of the year across the site. This year saw salad-making robots at the Mayo Clinic, 41 healthcare dining workers who are Foodservice Heroes, tips to reopen your café after the spring shutdowns and real-time feedback on hospital patient meal service (obviously, a pre-COVID initiative).
Food Management also highlighted individual programs continuing to innovate.
In Meadowbrook, Pa., the foodservice team increased sales, satisfied customers and tempting treats like chocolate chip cheesecake all came together perfectly at Holy Redeemer, where Elior North America unit Cura Hospitality incorporated many types of chocolate into one sweet pop-up station.
And in Houston, MD Anderson Cancer Center copes with coronavirus and cancer with a streamlined patient menu, scaled-back retail and stepped-up delivery which have all altered dining services at this massive healthcare complex.
