TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.–A former food and nutrition services supervisor at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City has pleaded guilty to embezzling from the hospital.

Jeffrey Joseph Ales, 43, on Friday, June 13, pleaded guilty to embezzlement of more than $1,000 but less than $20,000 in Grand Traverse County Circuit Court, records show.

Munson Medical Center authorities said Ales misused a hospital credit card and a membership account at a local retailer for personal gain. Authorities earlier said he embezzled about $27,000 and used some of the money for gift cards and gasoline.
