The Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) is supporting a bill currently before Congress that would require federally funded skilled nursing facilities in the absense of a full time dietitian, to train their director of foodservice as a Certified Dietary Manager. The Safe Food for Seniors Act of 2013 was introduced as HR 2181 on May 23 by Rep. Tom Latham (R-IA) and Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) to amend titles XVIII and XIX of the Social Security Act.
