The Market 16 & Noodle Bar at Drexel University is a new campus-based global market carrying a diverse selection of food and beverage products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, customized and made to order noodle bowls and freshly made sushi. Designed to become a meeting place for Drexel’s diverse students, faculty and staff, the store is located at a thriving street corner that includes heavy pedestrian traffic and public transportation access.

“Market 16 & Noodle Bar is a concept that I developed specifically to cater to our growing international student population and students’ desire for quick, authentic and fresh food items," says Rita LaRue, senior associate vice president for Drexel Business Services, which oversees retail, housing, and dining at the school. "It was essential to continue to provide space for students, faculty, professional staff and community members to gather in a unique place where they can talk, study, and socially interact as they enjoy a noodle bowl with friends or a cup of tea with a colleague.”

The new 4,000-sq.ft. renovation features 40 indoor and outdoor seats as well as a community table. Stations include a fresh noodle bowl and sushi walk up station where everything is prepared to order, or quick grab-n-go items, all made fresh daily. Culinary highlights include noodle, sushi & tea bar and a selection of vegan/vegetarian, kosher, gluten-free and halal items.

Dining services at Drexel, including the new Market 16 store, are managed by Sodexo.
