Whitsons announces new culinary innovation specialist

Chef Byron Murphy will join the team and support school districts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Chef Byron Murphy has joined Whitsons Culinary Group as a culinary innovations specialist.

In his new role, Murphy will support school districts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Prior to joining Whitsons, Murphy was the executive chef at East Orange School District in East Orange, N.J., where he was known for starting a program called Dining with Chef Byron, which taught students dining etiquette.

Murphy has also opened his own restaurant and has cooked for NFL teams such as the Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks. He received his formal training in the culinary arts at The Food Service Training Academy Culinary School and furthered his studies at Stella Culinary Academy in California.
