Prior to COVID-19, Director of Dining Services Dean Masuccio and his team at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash., began redefining their mission and vision for the foodservice program.

The unusual months that followed offered an opportunity to further refine current and future goals and to lean into new training and education initiatives.

Part of that updated outlook included a fresh focus on building campus partnerships. “We’re much more than food and beverage,” Masuccio says. “We’re here to support the university at large; we’re here to be included in campus discussions and planning and long-term development.”

On this episode of “Dig In,” Masuccio shares how his team has fostered those cross-campus relationships and closed gaps within the dining program.
