April 25—Lettuce, spinach and celery aren’t the only green items that the University of Maryland Dining Services’ Goodies-to-Go is offering.
In keeping with university efforts to increase sustainability, university-run catering and delivery business Goodies-to-Go will serve its food with compostable and recyclable plates, cups and utensils, Dining Services officials said.
It took months of research to make the switch to greener tableware, but Dining Services finally implemented the new items a couple of weeks ago, officials said. So far, the response from customers has officials feeling confident in their decision, Hipple said.
