Mary Molt wins 2012 Gold Plate

Molt becomes the third non-commercial operator to win the top award in three years.

May 8—Mary Molt, assistant director for Housing & Dining Services at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., was named Gold Plate Award winner from the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA).

The award was announced at a reception during the National Restaurant Show in Chicago.

Molt was chosen from nine Silver Plate winners, all of whom were recognized for their career achievements at the reception. The awards are determined by a jury of trade publication editors as well as the chairman of the International Gold & Silver Plate Society. Molt became the third non-commercial Gold Plate winner in three years following George Miller, chief of foodservice for the United States Air Force, and Tim Dietzler, director of dining services at Villanova University. Molt was also recently named one of FoodService Director's 20 Most Influential.
